Wimala is a Buddhist monk from Sri Lanka who spends much of his time traveling the world teaching about meditation. He is also the founder of the Center for Conscious Evolution in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and is resident meditation teacher at the Omega Institute. This book is meant to be an introduction to meditation and the more practical aspects of living one's life in a spiritually aware, positive manner. The presentation is clear, simple, and often anecdotal; while grounded in Wimala's own tradition of Theravada Buddhism, the text is general, requiring no knowledge of Buddhist concepts. Still, this book offers little that is unfamiliar to readers with any experience of the growing body of literature of this sort. Only libraries with a high interest in this area will want to acquire this title; most will do better with substantive titles such as Jack Kornfield's A Path with Heart (LJ 6/1/93) and Thich Nhat Hanh's Being Peace (LJ 9/15/87).Mark Woodhouse, Elmira Coll.
