About the Author

An avid sailor, Joseph K. Waltenbaugh first became enamored with watersports when he learned to windsurf in 1980. He then windsurfed extensively in his home area as well as on Lake Erie, the Caribbean, the Gulf waters of southwest Florida, and the Atlantic coast from New Jersey to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Along the way, he met many colorful characters that he incorporates into this summer beach tale of suspense and danger set in a most unlikely location, the mysterious and idyllic barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina.

The author spends a majority of his time writing and sailing around his home and on Lake Erie in addition to windsurfing in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He shares his political and creative writing at www.waltenbaugh.net and his sailing knowledge and experience at www.bananawind.us.
