Overview

The Jacob's Plantation is failing while the price of cotton is at a low. Nancy then learns that she is one of the few slaves that must stay behind while the others a leased out to a more profitable plantation. Her son and everyone else that is able is sent away while she is left with the old and then sick field hands. Nancy who is still young is told by Master Jacobs that she must leave the lantern on in her cabin and allow another into her bed in hopes that there will be more slaves as a result. Face with the horror of what is to come, Nancy learns that the young overseer's son is the only person that arrives. Nancy guides the young man in the ways of love making while giving into her own needs. She soon finds out that the young overseer is wanting more than just sex.
