About the Author

"I was born in the small German Mennonite Town of Winkler, Manitoba, Canada. Population at the time had reached 3234 – less, of course, if someone noticed that I had left. My wife and I have three children and seven grandchildren.
Storytelling, I'm told, goes back to the beginning of time. My Grandpa Hildebrand was a captivating storyteller. I loved to sit next to him and hear the same enchanting stories he told over and over. I, on the other hand, have never been an entertaining storyteller. However, I do enjoy the art of story writing. Besides, writing the story gives me the benefit of telling the story without being interrupted.
I hope you enjoy reading and perhaps remembering as much as I enjoyed remembering and writing."
