The book is a look into my life as an African American single mother who has gone through tremendous obstacles in life. Join me in my healing journey as I share about overcoming domestic violence in my youth via my mother's experiences and my struggles with abuse, depression, health, and abandonment issues. My book shares how I went from being abused to becoming an abuser in my own life and finding my way out of the vicious generational trauma cycle of abuse. The book gives an intimate detailed story about my life as a second-generation single mother. I am the product of a broken home due to the penal system which incarcerated my father for over forty years. My story reveals new layers of self-discovery through accountability, resilience, spirituality, forgiveness, and healing along with my children's experiences joining me on my healing journey as I face myself.

About the Author

I am a Philadelphia native mother of two, I have a background in social work. I work as a volunteer mentor for a career development program for youth in my community. I have been through a lot of challenges in my life and have almost died from some of them, but along the way, I never gave up hope that I would persevere and pull through for the better. I have struggled with self-esteem my whole life due to being bullied and growing up without a father present due to him being incarcerated when I was a child. I was raised by my mother and at times the environment was tough. I had to learn at an early age to be resilient and keep pushing with the strength of God. In my book I write about some of my emotional, physical, and mental trials to love myself into my present… and how to help people do the same. I write about Adverse Childhood Experiences, domestic violence, and survivor trauma from my life and my children's lives due to intergenerational trauma. I want the reader to reflect on their own life experiences and patterns and see how they can change them through self-accountability.
