Lambing Almost Live

The fourth of these collections of anecdotes, rants, pious maunderings and general observations on life. Yes we have dogs, quads, sheep and cattle, but in this one we follow the 'lambing year.' It starts with ewes being put to the tup in late autumn and finishes in summer with the last of the laggards lambing.
But as well as this we have endless rain, as well as sleeping in a manger. Be brave and you'll meet young ladies in high heeled cowboy boots, Sir John Moore of Corunna, brassieres for cows, and, incidentally, David Essex.

About the Author

About The Author

Well I’ve farmed in South Cumbria all my life, milked cows for thirty years, run a suckler herd and reared calves. Then life went and afflicted me with sheep.

As well as that I’ve been a free-lance journalist, mainly covering agricultural issues, as well as being the CLA’s national livestock adviser for about ten years.

I’ve also had four fantasy novels published in paperback and innumerable novellas of a similar length to this short collection of stories.

To round this off I’ve got a wife and three daughters, and in spite of this, no dress sense whatsoever.

I’ve never been able to keep a diary, but over recent years I’ve written a blog. This is just a collection of blog posts. The easy way to find out what I’ve written is to go to my blog
