Overview

À la mort du seigneur de Minstead, son fils, le jeune Alleyne Edricson, est confié à une abbaye, celleci devant le renvoyer dans le monde une fois parvenu à maturité. Ce jour arrivé, le jeune Alleyne part sur les routes et rapidement se lie d'amitié avec des compagnons. C'est avec eux qu'il rejoint Sir Nigel, héros de la Guerre de Cent Ans. Celuici se prépare à embarquer pour Bordeaux afin de se mettre au service du Prince Noir et prendre le commandement de la Compagnie Blanche, turbulente troupe d'archers d'élite. Le jeune Alleyne, devenu écuyer de Sir Nigel, suivra celuici jusqu'à Pampelune pour combattre les armées castillanes et françaises conduites entre autres par Du Guesclin.
