Overview

Kouk "The Loon" and Feebie "The Moon" are two curious, loving ferret-brothers whose adventures take them to both the strangest and most familiar places. Whether investigating suburban streets, sniffing through deep forests, or studying ancient ruins, they set out to solve mysteries and help their adoring parents, Baiki and Phyllis, stay out of trouble. Spending half the year in America's Northeast and half in fabled Greece, Kouk and Feebie catch a whiff of every walk of life. Ever-shifting sniffs of culture, creature, season, and spice drive the noodle-cats so crazy curious they can't help but roll headlong into their next journey. Whether our ermine-adventurers are interrogating marbled monuments, rubbing their fur furiously on the lamps of genies, or simply solving the mystery of whose been breaking into their backyard, Kouk and Feebie remain curious as could be, and more determined than you might imagine. On their daily walks, wise Kouk and fearless Feebie find themselves surrounded by a world of mysteries and wonder; a world where stones talk, cats sing, clouds pretend, and bells bring news. Where trees advise, paw-prints tell stories, and slugs are a snack that might talk back! With problems to be solved, proverbs to ponder, obstacles to overcome, and stuff to be sniffed, Kouk and Feebie juggle the unpredictable conditions set about by their parents, Baiki and Phyllis, who'll stop at nothing to assure everyone and everything of every sort and type, sordid or strange, solid or slippery, are welcomed into their lives. With every sort of critter, relic, and riddle showing up in their living room, blocking walkways, flying overhead, or beckoning Baiki and Phyllis to bring the boys along, the family finds themselves in an endless series of adventures, revealing magic from the unknown and sating curiosity with a persistence fueled by unconditional love.

About the Author

O. N. Taniel is a professional pianist, artist, teacher, writer, lecturer, music-producer, accompanist, composer, metaphysician, hermeneutic philosopher, novelist, and poet. He specializes in providing musical accompaniment to both modern and classical dance-forms, and leads a long-standing private piano studio. Many years’ experience in interdisciplinary arts intertwining with ongoing study of the multiform presentations of metaphysical information in creations of all God-systems, mythologies, artforms, philosophies, sciences, and modern psychology led to an interest in synthesizing Art and Spirituality into an approachable and immediately appliable form. One aiming to guide people of every circumstance to interact with the world around them in a way most beneficial to our species-particularity; to autonomously justify that beneficial interaction-type by synthesis of Art and Spirituality facilitating comprehension of the vast breadth of creation of every type, subject, and period passed onto us.

He uses music, poetry, long and short-form fiction, creative non-fiction, essays, academic writing, lecturing, and visual art to offer others those concepts about the nature of ourselves and our world which he finds most beneficial, the ways reflecting them, their sources, means to justification of their implications, and the potentials of their engagement.

All of his work is a means of offering others knowledge about ourselves, our consciousness, and our Universe usable for interaction with the world always at our fingertips, in our daily lives, autonomously, in perpetuation, and by all of us.

O. N. Taniel is influenced by (among many others) the works of C.G. Jung, J.S. Bach, Ovid, W. Shakespeare, M.C. Escher, G. Seferis, P. Éluard, S. Dalí, P. Picasso, D. Hofstadter, L. da Vinci, the Brygos Painter, the Greek God-system and etymology, and the symbols and archetypes of folklore and spiritualities from across the world and time.

He is a loving and long-time ferret parent
