My name is Kevin Eagles, and I have written poetry for the last 30 years over a range of themes, this anthology covers these 30 years of experiences and thoughts sculpted into poems. I have always been enthralled by language and especially poetry, the skill of a poet to capture moments and replay them back using specific words and form has always captivated me.
My mum, who was Persian and came to England in the 1950s inspired me when she used to read Hafez, Rumi and Omar Khayyam to me as a child, that lit a flame that grew throughout the rest of my life.
My favourite poets are W. B. Yeats, Edward Thomas and of course the Persian poets Hafez and Rumi, but I enjoy reading any poetry as there is always something to connect with, even if it just a comma or beat in the right place.
