About the Author

Kevin T. Czerwinski is a sportswriter and former Record staff writer who has covered baseball for MLB.com for the past eight years. Currently he's a lead writer for MiLB.com, providing daily and feature coverage of Minor League baseball; he previously covered the New York Mets for MLB.com. He is also a regular featured guest on MLB radio. From 1993 to 2001, he was a staff writer for the Record / North Jersey Media Group covering college basketball and football, golf, and the New York Yankees and New York Mets.

Kevin has spent countless hours with professional managers and coaches, watching them drill their players. He has watched countless hours of batting practice, bullpen sessions, fielding drills. He brings this perspective home to his own family--he has coached son's Little League team for the last three years--and now shares these insights in this book.

Beth Balbierz was a staff photographer for the Bergen Record for 15 years before beginning a freelance photography business. She graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in Journalism in 1985, interned at the Grand Rapids Press and Muskegon Chronicle, spent three years as a staff photographer at the News Sentinel in Fort Wayne, IN, and more than a year at the Jackson Citizen Patriot in Jackson, MI. Beth coaches her son's Little League and All Star teams.  She is the photographer for Knack Coaching Youth Soccer.
