Overview

Description of the KJV

The King James Version of the Bible, also known as the Authorized Version, the King James Bible, and the KJV, is an English translation of the Bible. It was completed in 1611 and updated in 1769. It continues to be widely used today. This e-book contains the New Testament, not the Old Testament.

Description of Strong's Classic Work

Strong's concise dictionary of Biblical Greek, like his concordance, is a classic reference work for biblical studies in the English-speaking world and is accessible to the layperson. Each word in Biblical Greek is numbered, presented in Greek script and in transliteration, and accompanied by a pronunciation guide. Each word is defined in English, and the translation(s) of that word in the KJV are presented. Strong's work was originally published in 1890 under the title A Concise Dictionary of the Words in the Greek New Testament; with their Renderings in the Authorized English Version. It was bound together with Strong's Exhaustive Concordance of the Bible.

Linking the KJV and Strong's Dictionary

This work provides links from the KJV text to the Greek entries in Strong's Dictionary.

Beautiful Greek in This E-Book

This digital edition of Strong's classic work is distinctive in not only presenting the Greek in its proper script but doing so using in an aesthetically pleasing manner that looks great on the Nook. All Greek is accompanied by beautiful transliteration; you do not need to know Greek to make use of this e-book.

Superior Navigation Features in This E-Book

This digital edition of KJV (King James Version) New Testament Bible with Strong's Markup and Dictionary recognizes that you do not generally read Bibles and dictionaries linearly. As a result, there are multiple options provided for powerful and rapid navigation. Note that navigation details might be different in the various Nook applications for platforms other than the Nook itself. All of these methods of navigation are described in greater detail in the e-book's preface.

First, there is an interactive Table of Contents. The links therein allow you to select the desired book of the New Testament and then the desired chapter of that book. The links also allow you to choose an entry in the dictionary either by the first letter of the alphabet and then the second letter of the alphabet or simply by Strong's number.

Second, when you click Go to -> Chapter, you can scroll through the list to your desired book of the New Testament or letter of the alphabet in the dictionary, along with the range of Strong's numbers for that letter. Clicking on a book of the Bible provides a screen from which to choose your desired chapter. Clicking on a link to a letter provides a list of options for the first two letters of the word as well as the range of Strong's numbers for that letter combination.

Third, you can use Go to -> Page to navigate to a particular location. As you move the slider, the book of the New Testament or letter of the alphabet and the Strong's numbers for that letter will be shown.

Fourth, you can navigate directly to a particular verse by searching for that verse using an abbreviated form of the book name and using spaces to separate the book name, chapter, and verse. For example, to navigate to John 3:16, type "jn 3 16" in the Find box. More details can be found in the preface.

Fifth, you can navigate directly to a particular entry in the dictionary by searching for that entry by Strong's number with "g" for "Greek" prepended to it. For example, to navigate to the entry for Strong's Greek #1234, simply type "g1234" in the Find box.

Sixth, you can navigate directly to a particular entry in the dictionary by searching for that entry in translation with "g " prepended to it.
