About the Author

Hey, I’m Howard Night.
I was born in the age of Star Wars, Star Trek and Marvel comics so of course as a kid I was into sci-fi and fantasy but my love didn’t wear off as I got older, it grew.
I gobbled up Asimov and Tolkien, Claremont and Miller, and snacked late into the night on Night gallery and Wild West episodes.
As latch key kids my brother and I would rearrange the living room furniture to match the bridge of the Enterprise and ward off attacks from powerful alien invaders.
Even back then I felt the absence of people of color in the sci fi I loved. But that never stopped me from dreaming of being bitten by a radioactive spider or tracking replicants across cyberpunk streets.
Older, I began reimagining the sci-fi I loved with heroes that looked a lot more like the people around me.
Older still I began to wonder how sci-fi could be expressed from a perspective a little closer to home.
I’m a self-published author born and raised in Philadelphia. My first novel, The Serpent Cult, was set in an urban fantasy city much like Philly. Now, Pack Loren comes from a space opera world, Arcadia that could be a giant version of Mt. Airy.
Of course…there is no Arcadia.
