Overview

The play takes place in Britain. Feeling the approach of old age, the powerful King Lear decides to transfer power to his three daughters, sharing their kingdom between them. But before that he wants to hear from his daughters how they love him, "so that when we can divvy our generosity". The elder and the middle spoke a lot to the father of beautiful but false words. The youngest refused to flatter, and the king left her without a dowry. And then events develop and are predictable, and not predictable. But they are so exciting that I want to finish reading the play to the end.
