Overview

During an archaeological dig in Cornwall, Tobias Hawke discovers an ancient burial chamber under a chapel on a desolate headland. With the help of Dark Age historian Kristin Lockhart, they uncover a tomb linked to a magical and legendary past. But fate has plans for Tobias and Kristin as they are mysteriously transported back to the Dark Ages during a lightning storm.

Dazed and confused, the two awake in southwestern Britain at the beginning of the 6th century. In order to return to their home, they must determine how they arrived and, better yet, why they are there.

Traversing the Cornish countryside, Tobias and Kristin immerse themselves in the Dark Ages, a period historically shrouded in mystery. Follow their quest as they uncover the origins of a king called the Bear, a man thought to be the basis for the Legend of King Arthur.

About the Author

I grew up near Lake Erie in northwestern Pennsylvania in the early 1960s and 1970s. I am retired and reside in south-central Pennsylvania, living in Amish country. Like any young boy, I was always captivated by knights in shining armor and Camelot. I had a love for history and anything medieval. And a couple of trips to Europe only stoked that flame.

With retirement providing loads of free time, I started writing books to keep myself busy and my mind active. With my love for medieval history always present, I began stories centering on the Middle Ages, trying to take well-known legends and myths and add a new twist.

Sprinkled with historical facts, I hope my stories will entertain, educate, and allow you to escape the real world, if only for a few hours.
