About the Author

Kara is a northerner at heart; raised in Massachusetts and attended college in New Hampshire. But, in 2000, she put down some new southern roots when she moved to Georgia with her husband Dan. They have two incredible, hilarious and highly opinionated daughters – Zoe and Ava – who keep them very busy. Southern weather has warmed her up and she often finds herself saying “y’all” and greeting random strangers (was that with a southern twang?) The subject of this book is my first born baby, a perfect Chocolate Labrador named Kayla – Lady Kayla Alexandra to be precise. You couldn’t find a more loyal or gentle dog. She passed away in 2013 and certainly left a void in our family. This was written to keep her memory alive for my daughters, because wherever they went…she was always by their side.
