CHAPTER 1

My name is Kaleb, and I am five years old.

Today is a big day. I start Kindergarten!

Mom says not to worry. I'll be fine.

I don't know if I will like it.

Maybe I should stay home....

Mom helps me get ready.

I get to wear my new red tennis shoes!

Now it's time to go. I wonder what I'll do without Mom.

What if I get lost? Or need to go potty?

At school, I see lots of kids playing.

I hope I like them.

I hope they like me....

The room has lots of colors. I have my very own spot.

I see my name and sit down.

The teacher tells us her name.

She smiles a lot and tells us what to do.

Maybe. ... I'll be okay.

I get to sing songs and name colors.

I also get to count and say my A-B-Cs.

Mom gives me a big hug and then leaves.

Now it's lunch time!

I get to sit by Gracie. She's really nice.

She gives me her banana.

I give her my apple.
