Overview

BASED on ACTUAL EVENTS:

Masterfully crafted from the life and experiences of author Algernon, ‘Just Another Innocent Life’ fuses fact with fiction to embroil readers not only in the murder of a police detective’s daughter, but the scandal that could leave one young African American thrown behind bars for a crime he had no involvement in. That young man was Algernon, a maverick now bravely telling his story through a cinematic new book. David won over Goliath last time…but can he triumph once again in the cocktail of corruption that is modern-day America?

The death of a police detective’s young daughter rocks a town and creates a scandal, which exposes many dark secrets as the lover of the cop’s wife is charged in the unthinkable crime.

Defense Attorney Michael Petagnas – a former Prosecutor who now practices on the other side of the aisle, represents the young man who claims to have no involvement in the first-degree murder. Preparing to go head-to-head against his former understudies in this very high profile, David versus Goliath trial, Petagnas hires Private Investigator Nick McLean. The street savvy investigator believes that there is much more to the story, and begins to uncover levels of corruption and police misconduct. He vows to discover the truth and prevent the young minority defendant from becoming the second victim of a heartless cover up, and just another innocent life.

About the Author

Algernon currently resides in New York City, where he was born and raised. When he was only ten years old, Algernon penned his very first story entitled: "The Coin" which was a mystery thriller about a group of children that found a rare coin, and the troubles that followed them when word of their discovery got out.
Mysteries and suspense thrillers were his favorite genre growing up. As an adult, Algernon enjoys all genres - From fiction to self-help and personal development.

After receiving a musical scholarship as a gifted jazz pianist, he went on to study music education. After obtaining his BA, Algernon went on to take creative writing classes and attended writing workshops conducted by award winning authors in New York City, Orlando FL and Los Angeles CA.

Algernon has also written stage plays and screenplays as well as unpublished motivational books.
Stage & Screen Plays include: Road To The Potter's House - Special Delivery I & II - Reality Check - Pick Of The Litter.

Algernon was arrested in FL and charged with first-degree murder for a crime he did not commit. After a trial, he was acquitted by the circuit county court and released. He struggled for several years after that incident in wanting to share his story, however it was a place far too painful to revisit. After years of writing classes and training, Algernon has finally written and released the novel "JUST ANOTHER INNOCENT LIFE" inspired by his own personal life story.

As a Motivational Speaker, Algernon has spoken to audiences on a variety of inspirational topics. In his signature message "Make It 'Till You Make It" Algernon shares his remarkable and courageous journey from being homeless and sleeping on the streets of New York City, to working on major television/film productions and creating the life of his dreams.
