James J. Liang (Dr. Cool) was educated and trained as a physician in China before being sent to the United States to work on a research team at Emory University that would ultimately be responsible for ensuring the safety of the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine. While researching, Dr. Cool gathered and analyzed data regarding the interaction between human body systems and magnetic fields. Once the project was successfully completed, research that was not directly pertinent to the development of the MRI machine, including some of Dr. Cool’s, was discarded. He then returned to China, where he helped to establish and served as chief of the Concord Advanced Medical Center, the first private hospital in China. During this time, he continued to ponder the data he discovered at Emory because he knew that there was significance in it.
For centuries, people have used magnets to treat the human body, but there was no scientific knowledge of how the magnets improved the body’s condition. It did not take long for Dr. Cool to realize that he uncovered the molecular mechanism behind the efficacy of magnetic treatments. With this realization, Dr. Cool returned to the United States and established his unique clinic where he combined traditional Chinese medicine and biblical principles with his own theories and discoveries to holistically treat his patients. Over time, he perfected his treatment and developed a curriculum in order to educate students on this innovative method of treatment.
