About the Author

Since the age of three, Donna has eaten up words like candy. Reading became as much a part of her as breathing. Take away television, confine her to her room? No problem. There was always something to read. And when she couldn't read, she began to write. Writing became more than just something to do. Words strung together became music to her soul.

As an adult, Donna realized that writing was not just a talent, but a gift from God. And that realization led her to writing Christian fiction. She came in second place in the Black Expressions Book Club fiction writing contest. She has been a featured presenter at the Black Writers Reunion & Conference and the Faith & Fiction Retreat.

In 2014, she started her own publishing company, Proverbial Press, based on Proverbs 3:5-6. It is her sincere desire that all the works coming from Proverbial Press live up to its motto: "Where Godly wisdom meets Excellence in storytelling."

In addition to being a wife, mother and grandmother, Donna enjoys singing, directing the children’s choir at her church and freelance editing. She resides in Chicago with her family.
