About the Author

G E O R G E   D A N I E L   H A R V E Y  lives in the seacoast town of Hampton, New Hampshire. He enjoys living near the ocean and walking on the beaches. He is a member of the AMC and spends time hiking in the White Mountains whenever possible. He is retired from the NYPD. Among his assignments at the psychological services unit, he conducted psychometric testing and evaluated and counseled police personnel to include screening of candidates for police officer positions as well as for 911 operators. While assigned to the police academy, he was the coordinator of the Recruit Guidance Unit.

Most recently, George retired as program director of a twenty-seven-bed intensive-treatment program for emotionally disturbed adolescent boys after fourteen years of service.

His volunteer work included fifteen years of service at Seacoast Hospice, Exeter, New Hampshire, where in later years he focused on spiritual care.

George has served six plus years on the board of directors at the Chase Home for Children, an intensive midlevel adolescent program in the Seacoast area, which serves both boys and girls.

As warden, he continues in his fifth year of service at the First Congregational, Unitarian Universalist Church of Hampton Falls, New Hampshire.

Since retiring, George has intensified his interest in writing and from time to time has had some of his writings published. He has conducted chapel services on Star Island during various conferences over the years and, as a justice of the peace, has conducted spiritually themed wedding ceremonies at the request of brides and grooms.

George expresses, in humility, gratitude for the love, the lessons, and the blessings he has experienced throughout his life journey, which has grown him in wisdom to be mindfully present of himself and others through his heart song.

George completed undergraduate and graduate school respectively at the John Jay College of Criminal Justice and the City University of New York Graduate Center, New York City, New York.
