Synopsis:
Journey to the Center of the Earth
by Jules Verne
This tale of adventure and scientific exploration is set in the mid-Nineteenth Century. Axel Liedenbrock is a young man whose parents died, so he was sent to live with his uncle. His uncle is Otto Liedenbrock, reknowned professor of Geology and Mineralogy. Professor Liedenbrock is an antique-book lover, and comes to own an old book about Norwegian royalty of the Twelfth Century. In the book, he discovers a small piece of parchment. Written on the parchment is a series of ancient runes that appear to be some form of secret code. When Professor Liedenbrock and Axel break the code, they learn of a purported hidden entrance to a path that leads deep underground..... ultimately to the center of the Earth!
Join the professor, his nephew, and a stoic Icelandic guide named Hans, on their fantastic journey deep within the Earth.
