Joseph Seiss' HOLY TYPES: The Gospel in Leviticus, Annotated
This is an electronic reprint of an 1866 classic, annotated by a contemporary theologian, Gary Roper. The author, Joseph Augustus Seiss (1823–1904) was an American theologian and Lutheran minister. Seiss published more than a hundred works during his lifetime. This book is an exposition of the Levitical ceremonies, with their typical import and relations, covers a field comparatively unoccupied. The design of the author has been, in a connected way, to trace the features of the Gospel, and the method of salvation in Christ Jesus, as given in the ancient rites fifteen hundred years before the Savior came; and thus to develop not only an interesting illustration of the plan of grace from figures of God's own choosing, but also an argument for the inspiration of the Scriptures and the Divinity of the Christian system. With the advent of electronic books−a boon to ministers and theologians whose vocation required them to amass vast libraries−a need was seen by Dr. Gary L. Roper to make these old classics available for the electronic reader; thus an entire theologian’s library may be held on one’s hand! In 2011, Dr. Roper formed Booker House Publishing, Incorporated, with the noble aim of converting not only his vast library into electronic form, but to garner other classics worthy of passing on to succeeding generations. This is not a messy scanned copy of an old book. It has been painstakingly re-typeset and formatted for the electronic reader.
