Jennie Finch fell in love with baseball as a four-year-old when her mother took her to Dodger games. A year later, her parents signed her up for softball lessons and the young girl was instantly smitten. As a youngster, Jennie dominated travel softball and later became a star player at La Mirada High School in Southern California. During her time at University of Arizona, she set an NCAA record with 60 consecutive wins. Blessed with remarkable pitching ability, good looks and role-model sportsmanship, Jennie became a breakout celebrity at the 2004 Athens Olympics, where she captured gold with Team USA. About the Author

Christine Dzidrums holds a bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts from California State University, Fullerton. She previously wrote the biographies: Joannie Rochette: Canadian Ice Princess, Yuna Kim: Ice Queen, Shawn Johnson: Gymnastics’ Golden Girl, Nastia Liukin: Ballerina of Gymnastics, The Fab Five: Jordyn Wieber, Gabby Douglas and the U.S. Women’s Gymnastics Team, and Gabby Douglas: Golden Smile, Golden Triumph. Her first novel, Cutters Don’t Cry, won a 2010 Moonbeam Children’s Book Award in the Young Adult Fiction category. She also wrote the tween book, Fair Youth, and the beginning reader books, Timmy and the Baseball Birthday Party and Timmy Adopts a Girl Dog. Christine also authored the picture book, Princess Dessabelle Makes a Friend. She recently competed her second novel, Kaylee: The ‘What If ?’ Game.

Leah Rendon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She coauthored the children’s sports’ biographies Joannie Rochette: Canadian Ice Princess, Shawn Johnson: Gymnastics’ Golden Girl and Jennie Finch: Softball Superstar. The Southern California native also contributed to the tween book, Fair Youth.
