The overall intent is to bring together parent and child, teacher and student, adult and little one, while imparting fun, joy, the familiar and rhythm into the young one’s experience of reading. A note of gratitude to Moore’s “The Night Before Christmas” is owed; this book borrows heavily from its rhythm. In addition, a generic prayer to ‘the Lord,’ and themes of both napping and sleeping render the story particularly suitable to young ones at those regular times.
