About the Author

Richard Hughes von Hurst was born and raised in Hollywood. In his younger years, he was involved in the series and movie industry, appearing in a few films and the Fury series. In his twenties, he returned to the entertainment industry and joined Dale Garrick International Talent Agency. He studied at the Film Industry Workshop at CBS Studios and drama class while at UCLA. He took and received drama and dance coaching, participating in several commercials and series work.
Richard was born into a Scottish family that settled in the St. Louis and Mississippi River area before migrating to Southern California and Hollywood.
He is the nephew of Jack Whalen, the son of Bobbie Whalen, and the grandson of Fred and Lillian Whalen.
Richard has long wanted to write this book, hoping to clear the air and finally portray Jack Whalen as the man and hero he was.
