Jill Lowe was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer when her daughter was four years old. Over the course of two years, Jill had five surgeries and eight rounds of chemotherapy and twenty-five radiation treatments. After she was diagnosed, she looked for books to read to her daughter about the changes she was going to experience, but none of the books were appropriate for her daughter. She wanted to protect her daughter and to not scare her daughter. She wanted to stay away from words like “cancer” and “mastectomy” and “dying.” After she finished all her treatments she wrote this book. Every moment of this book is true and actually happened. Her daughter is her inspiration for the book. Jill wrote this book to give other families hope. Today, Jill is doing well. Her daughter just celebrated her seventh birthday. She reads this story to her daughter every week… her daughter loves the book.
