Overview

It’s All An Illusion! is a comparative study of the topic of illusion as expounded in A Course in Miracles, Buddhism, Hinduism and other belief systems. In the book I explore the topic of illusion in great detail and have included numerous quotations from other books and scriptures. I have also included interviews with a Hindu teacher, two Buddhist monks and ACIM teacher. I have already obtained copyright permission for the majority, but not all, of the quotations. The Foundation for A Course in Miracles have written saying I am at liberty to quote as much as I like from the book.

I would classify It’s All An Illusion! as a self-help/Mind, Body, Spirit book and it is aimed at people who may have picked up ACIM and thought that it was all too far-fetched to believe. It is also aimed at people who are interested in MBS books but who may know nothing about ACIM. I also think it would be useful to ACIM followers because the teachings of ACIM are simplified and explained in the book. I think it would sell well in the UK and very well in the USA.

About the Author

My name is Raveena Nash and I have been searching for meaning to life for nearly 25 years. During this period I have studied many scriptures and read all sorts of Mind, Body, Spirit books in my quest for enlightenment. A year and a half ago I was led to A Course in Miracles (ACIM) which caused me to do a 180 degree turn in my beliefs and in my perspective on life. I studied the course on a daily basis, one lesson a day for 365 days. Then I went back and read the Text and Manual again. I attended workshops and read many ACIM-related books. The central theme of ACIM is that the physical body and the world of form are illusions. Only the spirit is real and only the spirit has been created by God. I decided to write a book about this and to compare this belief system with others. Although I am nowhere near becoming enlightened, I have made that my major goal in life. But part of that goal is to help others “awaken” too. I thought I might be able to do that by writing this book.

I have a London University honours degree in economics and my first job was as a mathematics teacher in a secondary school. Then I left teaching for a while and went to work in the media for around 16 years. I lived overseas at the time and I worked in the field of radio and television news. I also spent about four years writing articles for an English-language weekly newspaper. At present I work in a secondary school teaching children who have learning and behavioural difficulties.
