About the Author

An international composer and recording artist in the celtic, Native American, trance, and indie genres, Diane Arkenstone has been a storyteller in varying ways since she was a child. An accomplished and renowned composer and recording artist, it was in the fourth grade that the seed was planted after receiving an A on a short story assignment. Fast forward to a poetry book, several children’s books, lyrics, and music for more than 300 songs, and she has now released a picture book that speaks to the heart in It Happened On Cherry Street.
Growing up in nature on a big ranch has inspired all of Diane’s writings. As a child, her family took in injured and rescued animals and had big gardens and large areas that were built for wildlife habitats. Raised among so many pets and wildlife fostered in her a great love and compassion for all creatures. For Diane, writing is pure joy and writing children’s books makes her feel like a kid. She hopes all her young readers come away from her stories with a sense of love, compassion, and awareness of nature that stays with them long after the book is closed.
An active enthusiast of archaeology for many years, Diane is the founder and owner of a record company and music publishing company. When she isn’t storytelling, she enjoys walking in nature, writing and playing music, and spending time with family who are her biggest supporters.
