About the Author

Jeanne Bender is an American author born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, the 2nd of eight children. She has been writing stories and poetry since the 3rd grade. Jeanne also writes children's chapter books at a 2nd-3rd grade reading level. She received a business degree in Long Beach, California, then studied literature in Seattle, Washington and Oxford, England. Her beginning chapter books are popular with young readers because of their colorful characters and heartwarming, storytelling style. In the Lindie Lou Adventure Series books the protagonist, a puppy named Lindie Lou captures the hearts of children worldwide. Jeanne loves to travel and has visited every continent. She chooses unique geographical locations to share with her readers. One book takes place on an organic farm, another above the arctic circle, and book 7 is about the Moon, to name a few. Bender's books introduce diverse cultures, including life lessons printed in red letters throughout her books. Kirkus Reviews described the Lindie Lou Adventure Series books as "an empathetic guide for young children trying to cope with their own expanding boundaries." Fans are adding new locations to their travel lists because of the places described in Bender's books.
