Overview

Religion has played an important role throughout the known history. There are many belief systems which are prevalent on our earth or were practiced in the past. A study carried out in 2022 concluded that around 7 out of 10 people in the world are believers. Although, this trend is decreasing, religion continues to be a fundamental part of our past & present. If there is a God – He surely is hidden & unseen – and yet so many people believe in Him. Many intelligent & educated people turned 'atheists' like the Soviets during communism but came back to believe in God in some way. Questions as to how & why these religions differ from each other, what are the central messages of each religion & is there really a common divine message among them, are explored, analyzed, & evaluated in this book. The main focus is to first give a 'full flavor' of each religion without bias & then carry out an analysis, particularly the commonalities & differences & to the reasons. This has not been easy for every religion because some religions do not have their original or written texts available anymore, or the present texts were passed on through oral traditions & so have no founders or holy books. Many others are translations from originals – which are not available now. Some religions are actually philosophies & give an interesting take on the questions related to life & purpose. However, some religions, it appears, have accumulated 'dust of time' & when removed a new picture emerges. The main intent is to find if there is a common message or 'a religion of God' dispersed in these religions.
