Walsh continues her Nantucket series (after If for Any Reason) with this pleasing tale of lost love, forgiveness, and rekindled romance. Twenty-nine-year-old Louisa Chambers, owner of a private concierge business on Nantucket, thinks often of her teenage sweetheart Cody Boggs, his family, and the death of Cody’s father 12 years ago. Louisa and Cody made a promise to reunite when they both turned 30, but they haven’t spoken since Cody’s father’s death. Louisa thinks their plans have been forgotten, until she is rescued from nearly drowning on a paddle board by Cody, who now serves on the Nantucket Coast Guard. Both are determined to keep the past behind them, but they can’t escape their growing attraction. The Chambers and Boggs families were once close, but Louisa’s decision to break up with Cody and Cody’s father’s death drove the families apart. Louisa, now with Cody back in her life, hopes to bring the families back together, but long-buried secrets threaten all she holds dear. While the ending is inevitable, Walsh’s wholesome plot weaves faith elements nicely as Louisa relies on her faith to make sure all is finally made well.
