Irene Mary's October Letter: An Introduction to Irenianism
In October 1998, Irene Mary Taylor penned a letter to the mother of Cometan, Louise J. Counsell regarding the baptism of Cometan. However, in the letter Irene Mary covers topics not just related to her grandson baptism but also regarding her Catholic faith. The letter has come to form the basis of Cometan's understanding of the beliefs and teachings that his grandmother held so dear to which has come to influence the foundations of her Cause for Beatification and her recognition as a Traditionalist Catholic figure. In this work Irene Mary's October Letter: An Introduction to Irenianism, Cometan provides an exegesis to his grandmother's letter from twenty-three years prior in which the foundations of Irenian theology, or Irenianism, were established.

About the Author

Irene Mary Taylor (1932-2015) was an English Traditionalist Catholic best known today as the paternal grandmother of Cometan and also for the Catholic theological system established in her honour and named after her called Irenianism which comprises her and her husband Derrick Taylor's body of writings, concepts and approaches to the Catholic faith.

Cometan (born 1998) is a British philosopher, human rights scholar and lecturer best known as the founder of Astronism, a space-themed new religious movement and philosophy. Cometan became an Astronist at the age of fifteen in 2013 and founded the Astronist religion then to embody his astronomical belief identity. Cometan was brought up in a highly Catholic family meaning that he was immersed into religious belief and practice from a very young age, eventually breaking away from what his grandparents believed to start his own belief system based on the notion that space exploration holds the capacity to bring about humanity's salvation (a form of salvation which Astronists call transcension).
