About the Author

Charles D. Kirkpatrick, II, CMT, has spent 42 years in the investment field. He has been featured on Wall $treet Week, CNBC, and in the Technical Analysis of Stocks and Commodities and quoted in The Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, and Forbes. He is the only individual to win the prestigious Charles H. Dow Award for articles on technical analysis twice. In 2008, he won the Market Technicians Association (MTA) Annual Award for Outstanding Contributions to the Field of Technical Analysis. A past elected Board Member of the MTA, he teaches technical analysis at Brandeis University’s graduate school of business. Julie Dahlquist, Ph.D., CMT, senior lecturer, Department of Finance, University of Texas at San Antonio College of Business, presents frequently at national and global conferences. With Richard Bauer, she coauthored Technical Market Indicators: Analysis and Performance. Her research has appeared in Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Technical Analysis, Managerial Finance, Applied Economics, Working Money, Financial Practices and Education, and the Journal of Financial Education. She serves on the board of the MTA’s Educational Foundation.
