This is the beginning of a series on the history of the Leeds family beginning with Thomas who was born in England in 1620 and emigrated to American in 1676. The author has tried to "flesh out" the typical genealogical information - taking the names and dates and attempting to explain what life was like at the time and how our ancestors may have been living. Subsequent chapters will examine later generations - Thomas' children, grandchildren, and so on.
