About the Author

U. K. Srivastava, obtained his Ph.D. degree in Economics from Lucknow University and did his post-doctoral work at Iowa Slate University. A well known author and management consultant, he is currently Professor of Economics al Indian Institute of Management. Ahmedabad (IIMA).

D. K Desai, was instrumental in setting up the Centre for Management in Agriculture at I1MA and is now Professor at the Centre. He has been on important national and international assignments in the area of management in agriculture and has authored several publications.

G. S. Gupta, Professor at IIMA has specialised in economic theory and applied econometrics and has been consultant to the Resource Management Corporation, Maryland, U.S.A, as well as to other organisations in India.

V. K. Gupta, has written and taught courses on agro-input and output and cooperative organisations and is currently Professor at IIMA.

M. Raghavachari, also of IIMA, has specialised in statistics and operations research and has taught at several US universities. He has also published extensively in these areas.

S. Sreenivas Rao, Professor at IIMA and a mass communication expert, has several publications on management to his credit.

S. Vathsala, Fellow IIMA is Assistant Professor in Business Policy and her interests lie in general management in corporate, agriculture and rural sectors. She is on the editorial board of AMA News.

Amar Jeet Singh is an alumnus of IIMA and has worked with several large organisations. He is now Deputy Manager (Marketing) at Bhavnagar Vegetable Products Units.

V. Ravinthra Bharati, holds a post graduate diploma from the School of Planning, Ahmedabad. He is now Assistant Executive at the National Dairy Development Board. Anand.

S. Suryachandra Rao obtained his master’s degree in fisheries from Kanpur University and Ph.D. degree from Gujarat University. He was a member of the research staff working on the Inland Fish Marketing Study at IIMA.

J. Martin Santhakumar obtained his Ph.D. degree in Fisheries f?om South Gujarat University and currently he is an Assistant Professor, College of Fisheries, Konkan Agricultural University, Ratnagiri.
