Overview

Injury to Boston chronicles the return of Jackie Gruendel to the sport she loves! After injury, Jackie reached out to friends to assist in her return. Her call was answered by the author, who had recently retired and decided it would be perfect to walk with Jackie, who he had previously trained with, nearly, two decades prior. The author dabbled in poetry and was able to hold a pace, so a partnership was born. Jackie and Kendall began the journey to return to running. These are the poems of that return to running and Jackie's journey to run the Boston Marathon!

About the Author

Kendall Thompson was born in the historic port city of Alexandria Virginia. He is the tenth child born to Irene M. Thompson and Clayton Thompson Sr.. Kendall attended Alexandria City Public Schools, afterwards he pursued and completed a profession as a Firefighter/EMT/Paramedic in Fairfax County Virginia. Kendall is married with children.
