Overview

Harrington (ceramic and materials engineering, Rutgers U.) has found that most people interested in using infrared optical fibers need to transmit light at wavelengths greater than two microns, and are most concerned with determining which fiber is best for a particular application. Therefore, he focuses on the salient properties of the infrared fiber materials that are today the best in their class.
