About the Author

Bahram Farhadinia is an Associate Professor of applied mathematics in Quchan University of Technology, Quchan, Iran. He was an Academic Visitor with the School of Elec Eng, Comp and Math Sci (EECMS), Curtin University, Australia in 2007. He was also an Academic Visitor with the Department of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, University of Granada, Spain in 2017. He has published one book in Persian (a textbook for postgraduate students) and more than 35 peer-reviewed papers, many in high-quality international journals including Information Sciences, Knowledge-Based Systems, Soft Computing, Applied Intelligence, International Journal of Fuzzy Systems, Cognitive Computation, etc. Two of his papers have been selected as ESI Highly Cited Papers. His current research interest includes group decision making, information fusion, and multiple criteria decision making under uncertainty. Dr. Farhadinia has received numerous honors and awards, including the 2001 and 2005 Outstanding Graduate awards (Ranked Number One in the university), Iran, Distinguished Researcher Award (QUAT 2011, 2013-2016), etc. Dr. Farhadinia is the deputy of Iranian Fuzzy Systems Society, and the Editor of international journal of Recent Research in Science and Technology, and serves as a reviewer for more than 30 international journals.
Zeshui Xu is a Distinguished Young Scholar of the National Natural Science Foundation of China and the Chang Jiang Scholars of the Ministry of Education of China. He is currently a Professor with the Business School, Sichuan University, Chendu, China. He has been selected as a 2014 and 2015 Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researcher (in the fields of Computer Science and Engineering, respectively) and also included in The World's Most Influential Scientific Minds 2014. His h-index is 87, and has authored the following books: Uncertain Multiple Attribute Decision Making: Methods and Applications (Tsinghua Univ. Press, 2004), Intuitionistic Fuzzy Information Aggregation: Theory and Applications (Science Press and Springer, 2012), Linguistic Decision Making: Theory and Methods (Science Press and Springer, 2012), Intuitionistic Fuzzy Preference Modeling and Interactive Decision Making (Springer, 2013), Intuitionistic Fuzzy Aggregation and Clustering (Springer, 2013), and Hesitant Fuzzy Sets Theory (Springer, 2014). He has contributed more than 660 journal articles to professional journals. His current research interests include information fusion, group decision making, computing with words, and aggregation operators. Prof. Xu is the Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems, Information Sciences, International Journal of Fuzzy Systems, Fuzzy Optimization and Decision Making, International Journal Machine Leaning and Cybernetics, etc. He is also a member of the Editorial Boards of Information Fusion, Information: An International Journal, International Journal of Applied Management Science, International Journal of Data Analysis Techniques and Strategies, Journal of Applied and Computational Mathematics, International Journal of Research in Industrial Engineering, System Engineering—Theory and Practice, Fuzzy Systems and Mathematics, Journal of Systems Engineering, and Chinese Journal of Management Science, etc.
