A 36-year old mathematician, that grew up in America and lives with the unquenchable memory of his mother, seeks his roots. A trip that passes through different experiences: academic conflicts in America, conflicts within left wing organizations during the dictatorship in Greece, endless backgammon games in the busy Middle East markets, suspicions for the betrayal of big love, the life in besieged city of Tripoli in Peloponese in 1821 - and all these while the fires rage in Pylos and the crisis is about to burst out. The "Information Technology guru" comes back: this time with an ambitious novel of five hundred pages, that it recounts the history of at least three generations together with modern Greek history in certain critical moments. Alexander and Alexandra Ahndoril, both established writers with several published books, teamed up professionally for the first time to write The Hypnotist. The pseudonym Lars Kepler allowed them to separate their earlier, independent work, from this new common authorship, and they even submitted the manuscript anonymously. Five days later, publisher Albert Bonniers knew they had a nail-biting best seller in the vein of Stieg Larsson's novels. Initially, the Ahndorils did not want to reveal their true identity. With their successful separate careers, and a well-functioning family life with their three children, they felt no need to tell all. As expected, media launched a huge investigation, and it wasn't long before one of Sweden's largest tabloids paid a visit to their summer home, urging them to confess that they had written one of the most widely read books of 2010.
