Harriet Ann Jacobs (1813-1897) was an African-American slave and abolitionist. Her biographical INCIDENTS IN THE LIFE OF A SLAVE GIRL was the among the first accounts of slavery written by a former slave, and one of the first to detail the sexual harassment of slaves by their owners.
