Overview

Robert MacAulay brings his son Berry (Blue-eye) to Zermatt for his twelfth birthday. They are befriended by a group of other visitors, all of whom have stories to tell. The week culminates in a double climax, first the grand birthday dinner, and second the avalanche!!

About the Author

The author, not being very confident of his parenting qualification, decided to reintroduce himself to each of his three children on their respective twelfth birthdays. In each case he picked something which he thinks and hopes will result in lasting activities and relationships. With the oldest boy, it was a racing sailboat. With his daughter it was a trip to the Dalmatian Coast; and with Berry it was skiing the Alps. The result had a pretty good WOW factor, which is fictionalized herein.
