Overview

Harry ha undici anni e passa gran parte delle giornate, come tutti i ragazzini di quell'età, a pescare sulle rive del fiume Sabine e a scorrazzare per i boschi insieme all'amato cane Toby e la sorella Tom. Sono tempi duri, c'è la Depressione, ma a lui non serve molto altro per essere felice. La sua vita però cambia quando scopre il cadavere martoriato di una donna nera nelle acque della palude. Inizia cosí la grande avventura che lo porterà a varcare per sempre il confine che segna la fine di ogni infanzia, quel punto oltre il quale il mondo smette di essere abitato dai mostri e inizia a riempirsi dei fantasmi che tormentano le esistenze degli adulti.

About the Author

Joe R. Lansdale (b. 1951) is the author of more than 40 novels and numerous short stories in a range of genres, including Western, horror, science fiction, mystery, and suspense. He has received the Edgar Award and eight Bram Stoker Awards, and several of his books have been adapted into films. He is best known for his Hap Collins and Leonard Pine mystery series, set in the fictional town of LaBorde in East Texas. He lives with his family in Texas.
