The first official studio album by rapper
Destroy Lonely,
If Looks Could Kill is an expansive, lengthy set with 25 songs plus differing bonus tracks spread across the digital, vinyl, and CD editions. Keeping a consistent sound throughout its duration, the album blends trap beats with hazy, atmospheric guitars inspired by bands such as
Deftones and
the Cure. Some of the production is remarkable, with the whistling, gliding synths of "came in wit" and the bubbling textures of "all the time" being particular standouts. He aims for a particular mood, and he achieves it.
