About the Author

Fern Baudo received an Associates of Science in Nursing in 1995 from the State University New York, Ulster County Community College. She completed a Master’s of Science in Nursing in 2001 at Columbia University School of Nursing. She became board certified as an Adult Health Nurse Practitioner following the completion of her Masters. Baudo has also received a certificate of completion from Respecting Choices® for completing the First Steps Advance Care Planning Facilitator and Trainer course.

Her clinical nursing experience is in hospice, organ donation, and critical care. Baudo currently teaches nursing as an adjunct in New York City. She continues her clinical practice both in advance practice as well as bedside nursing. Baudo serves on the board of the Long Island Family Caregiver Coalition. She is active in participant in the New York State coalition for National Health Care Decisions Day, as well as the MOLST implementation team.

Fern Baudo (née Wasserman) is President and Founder of Fern Baudo Adult Health Nurse Practitioner PC (formerly New York Legal Nurse Consultants, Inc.). She provides professional speaking engagements, and educational seminars for the community on Advance Care Planning. She also serves the community by providing private consultations on Advance Care Planning. Baudo has written and delivered continuing education programs to financial professionals, tax professionals, legal professionals, as well as medical and nursing professionals. Baudo resides in New York with her husband.
