Overview

The killing of a former Iraqi interpreter sets his American sponsor on a search for the assassin, a search that threads its way through a torch job of the Iraqi's house and the murder of the interpreter's wife, culminating in a race across open water on a snowmobile, a chase up an Interstate highway in a snow storm, and a shoot-out at the state capitol. Wisconsin winters are murder. In "Iced", it certainly is.

About the Author

Jerry Peterson writes crime novels set in Kansas, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

He has six books out: "Early's Fall", "Early's Winter", "The Watch", "Rage", "A James Early Christmas", and "The Santa Train".

The first two feature Kansas Sheriff James Early - the Early in the title - and take place in 1949-50. They are a part of Peterson's James Early Mysteries series.

The third and fourth books are a part of a series that features Tennessee defense lawyer AJ Garrison. Both books are set in the late 1960s, while the Vietnam war was still the lead story on the nightly news.

The last two books are collections of Peterson's Christmas short stories. Two of the stories in book 1 feature James Early, and one of the stories in book 2 features AJ Garrison.

This year Peterson will bring out four books, a novella thriller, "Iced"; a mainstream novel, "The Last Good Man"; a crime novel set in the era of Prohibition, "Capitol Crimes"; and a second mainstream novel, "Rooster's Story".

Before he became a writer, Peterson taught speech, English, and theater in Wisconsin high schools, then worked in communications for farm organizations for a decade in Wisconsin, Michigan, Kansas, and Colorado. He followed that with a decade as a reporter, photographer, and editor for newspapers in Colorado, West Virginia, Virginia, and Tennessee.

Peterson currently lives and writes in his home state of Wisconsin, the land of the three B's: brats, beer, and good books.
