About the Author

Shamirah A. Briddle-Charriez aka Nefertiti aka Goddess Ifasade (Yoruba name), born and raised in the projects on Liberty Street in Plainfield, NJ with her mother, grandmother and great-grandparents. With societies statistics already being labeled from her birth rite, she was able to manage the good, the bad, and the in-differences of life in the ghetto. Shamirah graduated from Plainfield High School and has her Associates & Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice with minors in Psychology, Sociology and African American Studies from Johnson & Wales University. She has a Master’s degree in Advanced Human Services and is currently a Doctoral candidate at Capella University. She is a Master Reiki teacher and certified in mediation, mindfulness, spirituality coaching, breathwork, sound therapy & sound healing, chakra & crystal healing and is an EFT & TFT tapping practitioner. Shamirah is also a member of Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship Incorporated and 313+ Ancestors Speak Research Project. She is a cultural custodian and practices ancestral veneration and African spirituality (ATR).
