About the Author

Marianne Kane (née Alonzo) grew up in an Italian-American family in Linden, New Jersey, a part of the New York City Metropolitan Area and graduated Douglass College of Rutgers University in 1981. She has worked as a vascular sonographer for over thirty years. Marianne currently resides in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania with her husband, Howard Jenkinson, and their two cats. She is also the proud mom of son, Michael Kane, and daughter-in-law, Jenny, who live nearby. Besides spending time with family and friends, Marianne enjoys reading, traveling, the outdoors, and indulging in an extreme sport or two once in a while.
“As a teenager of the tumultuous seventies, when Roe v Wade gave women the legal right to abortion, I was taught in school that the fetus was just a blob of tissue. With the passage of time, I have learned otherwise.”
