About the Author

I was born and raised in Queens, NY—the great melting pot—to Chilean parents. While growing up with parents who were foreigners was not always easy, they worked tirelessly to ensure my brother and I were blessed with a strong education as well as exposure to different cultures through our yearly travels. Because I was fluent in Spanish and English, helping my parents translate and subsequently communicating with other foreigners became a passion of mine.

As an undergrad, I majored in sociology and minored in philosophy at Smith College. After a few years of working in the corporate world, I realized my true passion was working with children, so I pursued an MA in early childhood education at New York University.

My career as an administrator in the early childhood education field has provided me with impactful opportunities to guide and assist children, families, and educators from all walks of life. I am committed to sharing the importance of teaching the “whole child” and working with educators and families to facilitate the best possible learning environments for their students and children, respectively.

I have experienced so much fulfillment in my life, but in summary, without my faith, family, friends, and food, I am nothing! I look forward to continuing my journey of learning and creating, but most importantly, sharing love along the way.
