Marcia Ogbolu McGee grew up in Vallejo, California and graduated from Vallejo High School in 1966. She earned a BA in psychology and sociology from Bishop College.. and a Master’s in public administration from the University of North Texas.
Marcia McGee earned a doctorate in education from Morgan State University in 2O03 and adult education credentials from Sacramento State University in 2011 and 2014.
She has served as Personnel Director in Dallas, Texas; State Director in Springfield, TN; Vice President of Business Development in Baltimore, MD; Center Director, Fairfield, CA and owned a franchise business in Palestine, TX.
She has worked primarily in the fields of employee training, real estate, education, developmental disabilities and foster care.
Her previous writings include, serving as assistant editor of the Mayor’s Commission on African American Males, Report on the State of African American Males in Baltimore City, and the Baltimore Metropolitan Area, 1996. She also successfully defended her doctoral dissertation entitled, “MSPAP Mathematics Performance of Public School Students as a Function of Urbanicity, Ethnicity and Gender” which was published in 2003.
This is her first children’s book in a series of books to encourage reading and life-long learning.
