Overview

Patrick R. Tull was born on April 1st 1960, the second son and child of Haskell and Lorna Tull, in Cunupia Trinidad. Patrick was active in soccer, cricket and table tennis as a teenager.

He met and married Denise Robertson in June 1986. The union produced one child, before they migrated to the United States to give his daughter a better chance in life. There are some moments when he questioned that decision.

The family settled in East Orange, NJ where he obtained his GED, purchased a home, and graduated from Devry Technical Institute. He worked several different jobs to keep food on the table.

April 1st has always been a time of reflection and reevaluation. All these years the desire to write a book finally peaked when he realized that his fiftieth birthday was only one year away. He is definitely nowhere near where he wanted to be at this stage in life. The challenge now is to make up for lost time by taking some risk to achieve some elusive goals.

About the Author

There are so many encounters with other human beings as we journey through life. For a brief moment we glance at each other, then look away. The whole story behind that stranger’s existence remains a mystery.

This book pauses a momentary glance, to tell the story of that stranger, an average dude. It gives an inside look at his life, from the wonders of his childhood years to the struggle to adjust and survive as an immigrant in the United States. It’s about the people he met along the way, the friendships forged, the women he loved, his regrets and failures, success, triumphs, and dreams for the future. It also gives, in the final chapter, his opinion on current issues in politics, from a grassroots perspective.

The author’s inspiration to write this book was ignited after reading Dreams Of My Father by President Barack Obama.
